True, but very successful tests were conducted from the "Molch" and "Seehund" midget submarines in 1944.
In fact, in a memo dated february 27, 1945, it's decided by the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine, to employ the G7ef(TX) "Spinne" on the "Seehund". It was a slightly altered version compared to the one employed at the shore-batteries from may/june 1944 (I don't remember the gerät-number, but probably 43cp).
The memo - quite optimistic - concludes that the torpedoes for the "Seehund" should be available by august-september 1945.
