<HTML>Hello Walter
I admit and even I am sure, that the contents of radioactive isotopes in modern steel is higher, than in sheets made 60-100 years back. The question is as far more and in what degree it can be reflected in application of steel in medicine.
At student's time I read the perfect book on radiochemistry of the outstanding German scientist Otto Hahn. There was resulted the description of such hypothetical experiment. If a glass (200 ml) tritium (radioactive) water to pour out in Ocean, good mix and select test probe (200 ml), it is possible to measure increase radiating radiation of world Ocean and total amount of water which there contains in the Ocean. Approximately thus measure total volume of blood in body of the man. The increase of a radioactivity of blood does not influence health of the patients. Once in Great Britain of one lady have written out the recipe of a radioactive isotope iodine with the purpose of diagnostics. In a drugstore have mixed milicurie and microcurie. As a result lady has accepted in 1000 times more radioactive iodine. The authoritative commission has made the conclusion, that this event was not reflected bad on health of the lady.
