Hi Ann,
Yes, I am the person you mention. Your message was in a hidden section of facebook which I opened today after reading about a secret messages. The book you refer to exists as a manuscript only as I was unable to find a publisher in English speaking countries or in Germany. The manuscript is in English.
I would be happy to share what I have written about your grandfather and his first and only patrol as a U-boat commander. I met members of U-805 at their last reunion in 1999 in Cuxhaven, Germany. There is a posting on the U-boat forum see below from the German speaking postings.

As far as I know, Bernardelli had two sons from his first marriage and no children from his second marriage to Hanni. I spoke to her by phone and she referred me to one of Bernardelli's sons who did not want to talk about his father.
So get us going, please send me something about your background and your email address. I need to be assured that your interest in Bernardelli is genuine.
