Sorry for delay .... I don't visit here often.

In fairness .... my father's account of the event did not stick in my mind with the exactness to say Oban .... but was rather an impression I gained from him that it was in "Northern Britain" and in particular the Newcastle area. Perhaps they were indeed hospitalized from Oban although ... again in my many conversations with him over the years about his war service... he never once mentioned Oban (but did mention Leith and Newcastle a lot)
