Baron Blythswood

Hi there. I'm looking for confirmation and information on a survivor from the merchant ship Baron Blythswood that was torpedoed and sunk by U.99 on 21 Sep 1940.

This link seems to give credence to the report of a sole survivor. [iancoombe.tripod.com]

Clay Blair's book: Hitler's U-Boat War (below) also mentions a sole survivor who was picked up by the U-Boat and subsequently turned over to another ships lifeboat. He says that the sailor rescued was named Joseph Byrne, however this person is not listed as crew on any of the crew listings for the Baron Blythswood on this site or elsewhere.

[books.google.ca]

I have an ancestor Ernest Hardwick who was crew on the Baron Blythswood in 1935 but appears to have not been on board when she sunk.

If anyone has further info on the crew or confirmation/info on the survivor that would be great.
