<HTML> Hi Vin!
I known the story about Herbert Guschewski. Sure that's strange but not impossible. If all the crew hid in spain after the war, like Schuler, they would have completely avoided all contact with Germany. This is particularly salient when one must consider the possibility that they could be regarded by some as "deserters" - certainly 2years [co-incidentally lasting to the end of the war] to fix a broken radio-communication system, Schuler claimed, doesn't exactly ring true!!
Schuler, although he became almost an "adopted son" to his close Ibizan neighbours - he lived quietly, keeping his war identity pretty-much secret - point in fact, my mother and her large family [resident for dozens of generations] know nothing about Schuler, despite living only 10km from Cala Sant Vincent all their lives!
I intend to return home to Ibiza end-July to do some photo's. Meantime there is little point entering into further disscussion with those who refuse to approach new information openly.</HTML>
