J'ai vérifié les données en ma possession concernant le U-602 et grâce à la liste compilée par Jerry Mason, je sais que les National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) américaines possèdent 8 clichés du U-602 pris lors d'une attaque effectuée le 5 octobre 1942 par le PBY-5A piloté par le Lt. W. Mercer du VP-73.

Les clichés ne montrent malheureusement aucune vue rapprochée du submersible et ne seront donc d'aucune utilité pour te permettre de l'identifier... Voici néanmoins leur numérotation NARA: #1903-558 à #1903-565. Si tu tiens à les voir tu peut le contacter à l'adresse suivante: s3bpilot@msn.com
Si tu as le temps, je te recommande un coup d'oeil à son site passionnant, le seul a proposer online des documents originaux (rapports de combats, interrogatoire des membres d'équipage survivants, etc...)

En ce qui concerne le rôle d'équipage, tu peut t'adresser avec bénéfice soit à Andreas Angerer : AAng258037@aol.com (attention, il ne parle qu'en allemand !)
soit à Hotte: hschmeisser@t-online.de (il communique sans problème en anglais aussi).

Hi Luc,

No wonder my french is good as I'm french speaking... :-))

I checked the list of NARA pictures compiled by Jerry Mason and found 8 pics showing U-602 under attack from a PBY-5A of VP-73 flown by Lt. W. Mercer on 5 October 1942 (pics #1903-558 à #1903-565).

Taken from afar, they won't help you identifiying the sub you found. Anyway, if they interest you, you can contact Jerry at the following address: s3bpilot@msn.com . Besides his great website deserves a visit: uboatarchive.net is the only site which posts original combat reports, interrogation reports for the U-boat crews and of course the NARA pics. A fantastic source by all means.

As for the crewlists, you can contact either Andreas Angerer : AAng258037@aol.com (he communicates only in german) or Hotte:
hschmeisser@t-online.de (no problems with english).
