<HTML>Joe,
After checking out Jerry Mason's information, I know why you can't find this information. As you probably know, Jerry sytematically collects all ASW incidents involving U-boats archived at NARA. The set of pictures and its attached combat report (ASW-6) I mentionned for Luc were at first unidentified. Thanks to the help of Axel Niestlé who checked out the time/position data given by the ASW-6 Report against the patrolling U-boat KTB's for this specific day, Jerry got the identity of the attacked boat. This long and time consuming process is still underway now and is most beneficial as it provides a steady stream of crossschecked informations based on primary sources, that is archived first hand reports.
So, Joe, don't be surprised if this type of information is not to be found in books like K. Wynn's U-boat Operations of the Second World War... The research we are talking about unfurled after K Wynn's publication and those informations are bookwise unpublished yet even if all those regarding U-boat fates do regularly update this site. Attacks which did not seriously damage are only seldom mentionned in books. This does obviously not mean they did not exist. It is the merit of both Jerry Mason and Axel Niestlé to provide those new insights regarding US actions against U-boats. Knowing the exacting crosschecking procedures they use, I can assure you of the high research standards they reach; for my part I very much rely on the results produced by those eminent researchers.
Joe, there is so much more to be published yet....
Best regards
