Hi Guys

Interesting story, I am open to the idea of a uboat being
in that area but I think the possibility of the sailors
and the CO hiding out from 4/43 untill the end of the war is
very slim, the uboat Commanders book byBusch & Roll tells us that
Schuler was missing from 23/4/43. Also other uboats that interned
themselves in spain or seemed to make there way back to Germany
look at Brandi for instance he and his crew were interned but went back to France to get another boat and continue the war.
Schuler was an experienced uboat officer he was born in 1911 and joined the navy in 1935, he was aboard the Battlecruiser Gneisenau from 5/38-3/40
then did uboat training and then joined Schepkes ledgendary U100
as 1WO from Oct40 to Feb41 getting off just before she was lost.
He then commanded a school boat from 3/41-11/41 then took command of U 602
untill she was lost. This guy was obviously no new recruit and had a fair bit of combat experience so I think this reinforces the fact that he would probably
not just hide away in Spain untill the war finished.

Once again I highly doubt that all these men would not of contacted there families for the last 64 years the uboat Archive would of found out
about it by now if any of these men survived the war.
