<HTML>Rainer,
Regards - long time, etc.
Yes, I was also in a long conversation with the director and his Belgian contact whom I believe was an ex Soviet military / intelligence officer. His story of events involves a lot of 'accidents' to key individuals chasing the case. Apparently, if you got too close, you were at risk of being 'taken out'.....The story of the 'Black Knight' also led me to contact with someone in NY who was claiming to be ex-crew on her last mission, e-mail details supplied by the group chasing CA-35.
The trail goes cold. Why? My theory -and it is only a theory - is that had someone offered money to continue with the diving and photography, we may have known something by now. However, my question ( which was never answered ) was that Project CA-35's various injunctions never seemed to satisfy my curiousity about further proof. Anyone living in that area might have told us more - but from the project came the same answer.
Why has it arisen again? After discussing this with Rainer and others, my enthusiasm for the whole thing waned. I am also inclined to believe Rainer's French boat theory.
Will we ever find out?
