21.10.41 FU 2723 01h45 viewing two lights on the island of St. Helena
commander: I have the intention to go at dawn directly to the road of Jamestown, to dive there and to look exactly at the town and the harbour. Since I have been in Jamestown in 1927 I can find out possible changements. Steered for the island from the north.
05H36 detected a tanker in Jamesbay
commander: intention to blow him up in the night because it gives the possibility that the suspicion goes to an auxiliary cruiser.
22.10.41 FU 2726 00h15 ready for action - approach on surface
01h43 4 single shots - 4 hits
enormous thin flame. Ship is illuminated as by day, the whole coast, harbour, barracks and batteries are lighted up in red glow.
