CAP propagates a myth that they actually sank a U-Boat 25 miles off Atlantic City in 1942. During the past few years CAP has added a second “U-Boat Kill” to the tally. Additionally they claim Grossadmiral Karl Dönitz remarked about those ‘damn little yellow airplanes’ helped to drive the U-Boats away from the American coast. Again unsubstantiated. I am just searching for the proof concerning CAPs claims, the proof seems to be as ethereal as their claims! It seems the want-to-bes continue to build their reputations on the deeds of those really experienced the event.
