<HTML>i can't confirm it with any real proof, but if you look at almost any picture of u-boat men drinking beer, it's Beck's. I remember that series of photos of Kretchmer, also, there are several photos in U-boat war by Buchheim. I can remember one of a steward carrying a bottle, and also a few of the crew enjoying a half bottle of Beck's Bier.</HTML>
