maybe a little bit late, but i hope not too late.

there is no book ABOUT schepke from wartime, that comes close to biography.
kapitänleutnant schepke erzählt ist about him, but as stated above no biograpy. interesting fact, that the speech documented in the book is from schepke personally. it is the speech he held in the sportspalace. just a little bit written more fluent from an ghostwriter, but still 100% schepkes speech.

there is a wartime book FROM schepke. U-bootfahrer erzählen. Written by himself.

Also there is a so called biography ABOUT schepke frim 2009. Not worht reading, no personal facts, a lot of fantasy from the author and just about the war-cruises from schepke.

there is an author writing an major biography about schepke at the moment. Has some interesting material like personals letters, old official documents and family contact etc. But as this is not his profession, therenot alsways time for writing. life, job ... etc.
