<HTML>As I understand it the Waffen SS were the highly trained fighting soldiers of the SS. \"Liebstandart Adolf Hitler\", \"Großdeutschland\" divions etc.
Another part of the SS - the Algemeine SS - ran the concentration camps. I dont think it is possible to compare elite troops with thugs and murderers......
