<HTML>Following the war diaries of U-71, this boat made 10 active war patrols.
But if you consider the two days from June 4, to June 6, 1942 and the transfert from Gotenhaven to Wilhelmshaven in January 1945 it will be 12 ones.

The attack of the Sunderland U from 10.RAAF happened on June 5, 1942 at 15h49 in BF 9442, that means about 300kms from La Pallice, which U-71 left on the 4th at 19h30.

After the attack U-71 returned to La Pallice, so was never in the Mediteranean.

The Sunderland was shot down by a FW 200.</HTML>
