<HTML>I was think images such as this are historical items in and of themselves. What was the popular press\'s depiction of Doenitz during war time? Agree or disagree, this is an artifact in that discussion. After all, what do you expect from an enemy in wartme? Praise and adulation? Of course the depiction will be negative.

What impressed me most of all is was the lack of overt Nazi swastikas or other Nazi items. German crosses are shown instead. This is surprisingly apolitical for an allied wartime depiction of a top officer serving Hitler. Even then people seemed to understand the relatively un-political stance of the U-boat men.
