Hi Hugh,
Homeside sailed from Freetown 8/1/41, loaded iron ore @ Pepel and sailed for the UK. On 28/1/41 sent an SOS from the position you indicated to the effect she was leaking heavily. No sub was involved in her loss, probably sank like a stone if any structural element gave way under the stress of weather.
