Hi Simon,
I live in New England, just a few miles South of Boston. I have been researching related matters for some time and have been interested in German Uranium shipments by U-boats for some time. I anticipate mounting a search for the wreck of the U-234 some time in the near future. She was torpedoed and sunk in about 600 feet of water approximately 29 miles Northeast of Provincetown, Cape Cod in 1947. We are interested in whether or not her mine tubes may still carry residual radiation from the shipment she carried. I am wondering why she would have carried lead and gold lined drums for mere Uranium oxide. Also, the rumor that the drums had been marked "U235." You should receive my research monograph soon. My contact information is at the back.
Sincerely,
Paul
