<HTML>Hi all
does anyone knows if it was common during WWII to inspect sunken u-boats,in order to salvage them?so to re-use them or for any other possible reason?
In my knowledge this was done by sending a \"Technical war correspondand\"
to the bottom using a \"device\"like a box with small windows, so to report the condition of the boat and if it was worth to salvage it.
Does anyone knows where these correspondends were based and in what kind of formation they were in the German army?
Also what were the criteria to make such a dive?
Thanks
