I don\'t know where you found this story, but it is completly wrong.

Otto Kretschmer was on a river cruise on the Danube going from Regensburg to Budapest.

On Sunday August 2, 1998 at 14h30 going down a steep stairs on this boat, he slipped and hurt heavily his head.

He was brought in the hospital St Elisabeth, where he died on August 5, at 3 o\'clock.</HTML>
