<HTML>Thanks for all the replys. The owner of Darby Island was Sir Baxter who was the largest employer in the Bahamas in the 20\'s through 40\'s engaged in farming and fisheries nearby. I haven\'t found anything else about him except for the local rumors of Nazi sympathy. The concrete mooring pillars are very substantial and would hold several large vessels. There is a castle in ruins and a large cave that was a natural corral with water from cistrens.
