Absurd!

<HTML>Seems the Dutch reputation for liberalism and tolerance is giving rise to more and more absurd rumours.
I served in the Dutch army (no, not navy, I was with liaisons) in \'87-\'88 and even then \'fraternizing\' (read: intimacy) with female personel was strictly prohibited. That was in \'87, so we can safely assume that in \'40-\'45 such contacts were not exactly encouraged either. Besides, a woman on board of a ship was a rare thing already, let alone on a warship and I don\'t even mention subs.
The idea that hookers were taken on board of subs is too absurd to discuss.
I dismiss that rumour as total rubbish.
On those other weird allegations:
Porn mags with goats freely available? No way. Porn mags, yes, but no illegal stuff like kids or animals.
Those who talk about \'over-liberal\' Netherlands should really come to visit it one day, to see how our calvinist roots tie us firmly down to earth.</HTML>
