<HTML>If I\'m not mistaken the \'night of the long knifes\' was way before the war, when the Schutz Staffeln seized the power in the NSDAP, by killing the leading figures of the Sturm Abteilung. Did the name of this stab in the back (Nazi cynicism in the extreme: they were always going on about the Dolchstoß that the communists and Jews were supposed to have given to Germany, resulting in the loss of the Great War.) get used for a major convoy battle victory? I have to say I seriously doubt that.</HTML>
