I do not believe you meant to say that. In fact both the type 7 and 9 had their tipping center very cose to midships. Also, once desired depth was reached the boat was trimmed to level or slight up angle, if negative buoyancy was wanted. Steering in reverse is poor because of rudders are forward of the prop wash. It will improve somewhat withincreasing way on. Vessels designed for extensive fore and aft maneuvering are ferries with props and rudders both fore and aft. Rgds, RB</HTML>
