<HTML>Hi Edward and Ken

According to Rohwer:
U-106 (Rasch) attacked a ship of 5000 tons with a torpedo in grid AK 9985 at 07h19 on 28. October 1941.
Rasch observed one hit from close by, and a ship sinking after 3 min. The King Malcolm was seen for the last time in the position quoted. (47°40N/51°50W)
(Sadly Rohwer does not mention a date for the last sighting of the King Malcolm)

U-374 (Fischel) attacked a ship of 6000 tons with a torpedo in grid BC 4163 at 09h03 on 31. October 1941.
Fischel observed one hit and saw the ship sinking in 30 sec.
He states that the Rose Schiaffino was sunk in this attack.

AK 9985 is approx. 51°11N/27°13W
BC 4163 is approx. 47°59N/50°33W

I think the position of U-374 is to near to the last sighted position of the King Malcolm. (I assume that the last sighting was on 27 or 28 Ocotber).

Perhaps only the KTB entrys of both boats and the exact dates of the last sighting will make the things clearer.

Regards
Rainer</HTML>
