Among the collection of photos recently archived in the RN Sub museum (Portsmouth, UK) are a number of what I take to be U-654, (white elephant`s head on conning-tower, yes ?) taken shortly before she was lost. Can send you a scan of one or two if you like; alternatively if you are in the area you could visit the photo archive and the curator I`m sure could be persuaded to run off a better one if you need it for publication.

Do you by any chance have a photo of Forster, the Kommandant on her last trip ? I have a couple of photos taken onboard U-564 which I suspect show Forster having coffee with Suhren, but without a confirmed pic of Forster I have no way of being sure.

Can`t help you with any crew details, I`m afraid.
