<HTML>I too have a tall taale to tell egardng U-Boats \"finds/dives\".
Not in Gulf of Mexico but off N.ireland.
A gent who runs a Antique shop in Belfast told me how he had found an intact U-Boat from which he had ben recovering items for a number of years aand seling them in his shop.
He had boody trapped the sub so only he could get in.
The crew he told me scutled and surendered at the end of te war... no one was interested in the boat. He told me this tale in 1986.
I was his shop three weeks ago (first time since 86) he triedto sell me a very poor set of Carl Zeiss (Km. marked) for £450 , no case coverngs gone , lens needing
re-cementing , politely said no thanks. ( he said they were Afrika Corp gear).
tall taales... everyone on the West Coast of Ireland knows a cove where U-Boats refuelled.. must have been the worst kept secrets of the war.
