<HTML>Hi friends,
This post brings up one book in mind that I have recently read. it is that of Herbert Werner (Iron Coffins). In the book he frequently goes to towns in France to see prostitutes. He seems to cleverly write his way around it by not discussing whether he actually engaged in such acts, but it was pretty obvious. He describes the acts of others pretty well.
I know this book has been critized by many other U-boat fahrers, among them Erich Topp, but as the seamen\'s tradition remains, I think Werner was not exaggerating. Think about it, this has been a sailor\'s tradition for centuries, it\'s not going to stop.
MPC, I\'m assuming Jak has read the book. I would be interested to know what he thinks about these incidents as he read it from that source. If not, then I recommend the book for a good read and a good description of French brothels during WWII.
Best wishes to you all,
Fin
P.S. Ying, thanks for your point of view, I certainly enjoyed it.</HTML>
