<HTML>Hi Yuri,
From the accounts of several German servicemen and civilians this really happened. (most first-hand account books talk about this, i.e. \"Soldat\", by Siegfried Knappe, and \"Paid in Full\" by Edwin K. Mahlo, in addition, so do many documentaries from the History Channel).
The reason being to totally get rid of the German race and that includes revenge,by rape. This sort of resembled the the American made Morgenthau Plan in a way as that plan called for the castration of all German men (This plan was coincidentally concocted by a person with Jewish beliefs).
Now, here\'s the most conclusive evidence:
Women suicide rates towards the end of the war! I saw this on the History Channel, and they sourced official Russian records.
It was estimated that towards the end of the war, more than 500-900 women were committing suicide per day! So as not to be caught by the Russians.
Now, back to your comment. I think what Ken Dunn meant was that there was no one stopping this behaviour. Not even higher ranking officers. This, however, happened on both sides. I\'ve almost completed that book I previously mentioned (\"Soldat\", by S. Knappe). Russians were shooting German soldiers in the back after they had surrendered, so from then on, the Germans were less likely to take prisoners. You can\'t stop revenge that powerful. There was no point in it, as demoralizing that was.
Anyway, these things happened and show the worst in humanity. Don\'t forget that it wasn\'t just the Germans that committed atrocities during the war.
I\'ll look forward to your reply,
Best wishes,
Fin
