the submarine role in German expansion - help!

I\'m working on a relatively extensive school project, analyzing the role which U-Boats had in the expansion of the Third Reich. In other words, WWII offering the more or less first large-scale submarine usage, how significant to the war itself (mainly the expansion of the Reich, but also the outcome, although focus is on the prior) was the entré of U-boot\'s in the military?
..The problem comes here: I currently live in Saudi Arabia, therefore people to contact, and information in general, are both quite hard to find. (I have a pair of somewhat decent books, but interviews and more information is requiered).
Therefore, this being the paramount internet source for the subject, can anyone help me? Either with information, or people whom concider themselves knowledgable about the subject, please either post here or mail me on xld@polycount.com and I\'ll contact the!
