If you can get yours hands on a old book called
War in the Southern Oceans by L.C.F Turner. It is a book about the u-boat war conducted in the south atlantic and indian oceans. It was published way back in the 1960\'s and even though it is old it has good details on the activities of the u-boats. Unfortunately it is pretty expensive to buy but you could source it from www.bookfinder.com . I know of another book but it is in German called Haes im Paradise (my spelling is probrably wrong) by J.Brennecke which also deals with u-boat activities in southern oceans. The book by Jordan Vause on Luth also gives a good account of Luths\' activities in the U-181 Called I think Wolf.
Jeffrey Jones book U-boat Aces is another book that gives some details on the cruises of U-178 & U-172 during their cruise to South African waters in 1942.
