G'day,

My grand father Herbert Jacob I am told was a cinemaphotographer on UBoats, I am told he was on a UBoat that entered New York Harbour. My father does not speak much about the war, his name is Harry Jacob and was on mine sweepers from 1943.
In regards to my grandfather I was also told that he served on U210 at some point and survived a sinking by a Canadian ship. This is all the info I have and do not really know to much about him. I never met my grandfather as we live in Australia, he died in Berlin in 1970.
I would like to know how I could get info on his life or a little of his service history.
Hope someone may be able to guide me.
