This is from the dedication page of Herb Werner\'s \"Iron Coffins\". I don\'t know if it\'s the poem (or part of) but it says it\'s from a German song.

There are no roses on a sailor\'s grave,
No lilies on an ocean wave,
The only tribute is the seagulls\' sweeps,
And the teardrops that a sweetheart weeps.
