<HTML>Hi All
Just a quick note as a follow up! Their are 3 books which are available on the Maunsell Sea Forts. And they should all be available from Amazon Books.
The author is Frank R. Turner, and the books are all listed as Part 1-3 respectively.
Part 1 ISBN 09524303-0-4 The Maunsell Sea Forts.
Part 2 ISBN 09524303-1-2 \" \" \" \"
Part 3 ISBN 09524303-7-1 \" \" \" \"

Frank is the \"Guru\" on the Thames Sea Forts as he has studied them most of his life. The books are well illustrated and I can recommend them highly.

During the summer months Frank organises boat trips out to the Forts from Herne Bay for people who want to see them and believe me their are a lot of people who surprisingly want to see them! As normally the boats are fully booked before they are even advertised. Regretfully you have to remain on board as their is no landing stage to alight, and anyway the Forts are in a rather poor state of decay now.

The one Fort that is still occupied is one of the Navy Forts which now goes by the name of \"Sealand\" an \"independant Principality State\" of the coast of England. this is a story in its own right and well worth a read if not a good yarn!
The fact that it is all true is even the more unbelievable!

To assist those of you who want to follow through the storys of the Forts/ Pirate Radio Stations and Sealand I recommend you try the following sights that may be of help to you in your quest!

www.sealandgov.com
www.fruitsofthesea.demon.co.uk/sealand/index.html
www.freebornjohn.com

follow some of the links from these sights for other sights related to the forts.
for the History of the Forts during the Radio Pirate Days, try this website;

www.freespace.virgin.net/line.design/forts/radioforts.htm

This should be enough information for anyone who wants to know more?
If not get in touch with me off Forum at: www.flyingtiger630@aol.com
and I will assist in your quest for more knowledge on the Forts.
Happy Hunting!
Regards Terry Andrews.
