If he stopped his destroyer to pick up survivors he would be a sitting duck.
There was a war going on you know.
It think putting out these nets was the best he could do without putting his own
ship and crew at risk.
I\'m sure no sailor would like to see other sailors drown (even enemy\'s),
so it was most likely a hard decision to make.


Does anyone know of incidents where ships who were picking up survivors from sunken vessels were torpedoed themselves?
