<HTML>I\'m not quite sure of what you are asking about the Coast Guard Cutter operating off of Cuba, in regards to limits. U.S.C.G. is part of the Treasury Dept. in peace time and are pretty much limited to territorial waters. In war time they are under Dept. of Defence ... War Dept. then.... and operate as U.S.Navy vessels, and will operate anywhere ordered. I know a number of convoy escorts were Coast Guard vessels. A large portion of landing craft at Normandy (and other amphib operations) were manned by Coast Guard personel. In our involvment in Viet Nam, a good number of the patrol vessels off the Viet Nam coast were Coast Guard 82 foot cutters ... The Navy did not have the types of ships needed for close in work. tjk</HTML>
