That site does have some interesting photos, although they were very slow to come up.

The picture of U-48 with the close-up of the conning tower and the \"308,000t\" shows what looks to be the diesel air inlet covered by a wire mesh screen, correct?

Also, two interesting things catch my eye in the photo of U-260 arriving in St. Nazaire. The detail of the left side of the conning tower shows what appear to be the tops of two gas (oxygen?)cylinders that are sitting in a compartment. Maybe they just look like gas cylinders and are something else altogether? Also, there is a round oblect in the center of that same compartment that lines up with shart or tube that leads down to the deck and, I assume, the pressure hull. I\'m not sure what to make of that. Any ideas?
