<HTML>I\\\'ve been visiting this forum quite a bit - why? Because I want to learn. What have I learned sofar? That it\\\'s no wonder we can\\\'t seem to put an end to war in this world, if grown men, often of different nationalities, varied backgrounds and cultures can\\\'t even get along on an innocent forum. Here are the forum rules:
\\\"This Forum is part of uboat.net, the most comprehensive web site in existence on the topic of U-boats. Please note that uboat.net is an apolitical site. Posts containing racial or extremist comments, personal attacks on other Forum participants, off-topic remarks, or anything else the moderators consider spam, will be removed from the Forum immediately, so please don\\\'t waste your time writing them. Please note also that \\\"What If\\\"/Alternate History threads and discussions of the Holocaust are considered off-topic.\\\"
What has been going on here is plain ridiculous, almost laughable; it reminds me of a bunch of bickering 1st graders in a school yard (\\\"you\\\'re stupid\\\", \\\"no YOU\\\'RE stupid\\\").
A Japanese (and others) makes fun of a Russian\\\'s English, an American hates all Japanese, even the generation growing up today, because of what he went through during the war (my father would get up and leave the room when my German friend came to visit, as if she was to blame for what he went through), a lot of interesting adjectives are thrown at a mystery person - why not just remove his posts instead? By responding to them, he\\\'s the one who wins by getting exactly what he\\\'s after, he\\\'s probably loving every minute of it, and will never stop as long as he gets the kind of reactions he HAS been getting - if indeed he IS a mystery person.
Maybe we\\\'re all created equal, but grow up under different \\\"rules\\\", each culture having its own set. My son, an American/Norwegian speaks and writes Japanese and Chinese, and has taken the time to also study the cultures of those two countries (and many others), therefore he understands what \\\"makes them tick\\\", and has a lot of friends among both nations, as well as other nationalities. He may not agree with all their ways and rules, but he recognizes them for what they are, human beings like himself. If we all followed that example, we would understand and respect our fellow man better, regardless of nationality and/or background.
I do NOT like what is taking place here, this forum no longer has the appearance of a valuable place to go for information, instead it seems to be a competition in \\\"let\\\'s see who can throw the biggest hunk of dirt\\\". It\\\'s degrading to the forum (and uboat net), and if things don\\\'t change it\\\'ll quickly lose its good reputation, if it hasn\\\'t done so already.
It would probably have been much wiser for me to keep my mouth shut, but was unable to on this occasion.
