I always liked that painting, but the narration indicates the victim to be U461. That might have been the intended depiction by the artist. The boat, however, looks like a IXc not like a XIV. A XIV would be much fatter, without a 10.5 on the foredeck and added flak in a lower wintergarden. Any thoughts? Rgds, RB</HTML>
