Hi Olsen, Have not found out much except, he went there, Holstein (Northern Germany) by order of Hitler when it became apparent that with the Russians advancing through the Oder & the Americans cutting through central Germant that the country would be cut into two & he wanted a leader in the north to establish civil authority as he was staying in Berlin. A part from holding several emergency meetings in trying to bring the war to a quick end he controlled the naval operations and the evacuation of Germans from the east following Hitler's death. He issued orders to keep the ports open as long as posible in trying to save as many peoples from the east before the end was near then having moved his regime to the old naval cadet school near Flensberg on 2/05 where after three days agreeing to the Allies unconditional terms of surrender; he permitted Jodl to sign on his behalf, he then being arrested on 23/05.-john
