<HTML>Hi Brian, It was about two hours after Mohr on u124 sank the Katha and the ship astern the SS Gogra that u124 was sunk. Apparently the Black Swan had recently been fitted with cm Radar presumably not detected on u124 and was spotted on radar travelling between the columns of ships in the convoy. Black Swan was able to close to close range before someone on u124 saw her and dived but too late. The second officer on the Katha had been picked up by Stonecrop and was able to witness the action and confirm the strong smell of oil after the attack did not come from the torpedoed ships which were both coal burners. Afraid I missed all this exciting stuff as the raft I was on was still drifting around until we were picked up by another freighter the SS Danby.
