U96 in port!

Can you help me to date a V11c 1/35th U96 model I am doing at present. I was hoping to base the quayside and boat setting on a home coming with the journalist who wrote the book Das boot and Lehmann-Willenbrock commanding.

I also was wondering if I can use the sword fish emblem, or do I need to use the 7 flotilla cow instead?

I would prefer to set a date as February 1943 as a half track on the scene was made from early 1943.

Your help would be appreciated.
