very low on the surface on the water. Plus they were hard to find
in low light during the day with their grey colours painted on the
decks/hull and conning towers..! Only with the development of
radar were they more detected on the surface for enemy ships
& others to find them. If the German battleship like Bismarck was
such a task to find by the British Navy at the time, then one would
think a U-boat would even more difficult to find...is it not.?
