Yes the Surcouf carried an aircraft I believe. The German\'s one idea re carrying an aircraft was the Type XI which never really got off the ground (if you ignore recent claims to the contrary).
The \"Operation Pelican\" was designed to use conventional U-boats. I haven\'t been able to isolate exactly which boats were earmarked for this, but Gimpel statesd that it got as far as advanced planning and actually using the U-bboats and crews to practise stowing and reassembling the aircraft.
