<HTML>Yes, the Allies did tend to carve up the world without considering the opinions of the people living in the lands they were dividing. What Hitler tried to do with an army, they did with a pen. This led to a number of messes that last to this day, such as Korea, Vietnam, and the whole Middle East.
As to the agreement with Stalin in \'43, the problem at the time was to defeat Germany. Britain and America weren\'t going to argue over Poland when their main concern was getting the USSR to declare war on Japan. Russia was allowed to keep what it had stolen. The story was the same for the Baltic States. I used to work with a woman who\'s parents fled the Russian occupation of Lithuania. She did not have a high opinion of Russians.
Concerning today’s borders, I don\'t know if anything should be done. You might ask the Poles if they think the land taken from them by force should be returned. I can\'t say this from a moral high ground, the US has done as much and more to the American Indians and others, and the deeds will not be undone, but it should be recognized for the theft that it was.
