<HTML>Hi
Find the flares thing a bit dubious as the planes wants to be practically over the Sub\'before the subs crew know whats happening. Also then would U-boats not just fire flares too?(i appreciate the flares may be coloured as a recognition signal and changed reguarly\'but breakdowns in communication happen and all it takes is the plane or sub to have the wrong coloured flares or signal of the day and a nasty incident happens)
Imagine you are in a British submarine and a Liberator appears out of the clouds at a range of 1-2 miles.
Do you
A) Try and get your flares\'and once retrieved find out what order of colours they are to be released in and then fire them\'all the while knowing that the plane is now closing to within a few hundred yards and Cannon fire is raking your sub.
b) Crash dive
Maybe your right\'but i\'m sure there must be more to it.
Thanx Dave
