Tankers sunk in the Carribean

<HTML>I got to thinking about the crystal clear waters of the Carribean and started wondering about all the tankers that were sunk by U-boats during the war. I don\'t know how many were sunk but I would guess at least a dozen. I\'m sure someone here knows for sure.
The point is, despite the negative enviromental impact from the oil slicks, the less advanced methods of the time for cleaning up the mess and the less caring attitude that people had for the enviroment at the time, the waters today are crystal clear.
Just a little food for thought.</HTML>
