REU-boats Wales - Irish Sea

<HTML> Bob,
Have searched what I have but have come nowhere near any U-boats having \'taken the ground\' on Welsh \'soil\'.
There are a few boats listed as sunk in the Irish Sea and, of course, there were many that were towed from incarceration ports to the \'Operation Deadlight\' locations at Loch Ryan and Lisahally. It is feasible that a boat being towed from, say, Portsmouth / Plymouth etc could have broken free of her tug / tow and gone aground - later recovered. I really don\'t know! The sea journey would have been up the Irish Sea so that\'s fairly feasible.
However, I think I am on safe enough ground to say that no boat landed in Wales during the war - although crews were brought ashore at Milford and Holyhead as prisoners.
Hope this helps?
Aye,
John
