You say go to a VFW or American Legion post to talk to vets? I am a member of a VFW post and also American Legion and Marine Corps League. I am also a vet. Funny when we get together and I listen to the WW II vets, their main topic of discussion is todays generation.. What we talk about is how rude this generation is. How they forget to thank the vets for what they did in the past. How after the Basketball games there were thank you banners to the teams for a game well played. How on veterans day there are no Thank You vets banners. How vets get rude replies to their opininions and experience. How the young generation (or the now generation) reads a book or two and become experts at combat or historians. How without being there they know everything. How they know what mistakes we made. How they know the mistakes the enemy made. How they don\'t know what mistakes their leaders made. How they stick up for these leaders. How these same leaders take away the Veterans benefits. How these leaders reward themselves for making stupid blunders. How they want to court martial a soldier for not wanting to wear a blue berett. How these same leaders and presidents send jobs abraod. We talk about things that if we knew in the past were going to happen we would not do it again. We do talk about the enemy and how they too had the backs of their countries turned on them. How they are no diffrent then us. How they too would not have gone into serving their countries if they knew they would be disrespected in the future.
Yes we do talk alot when we get together Mike.
And might I add we will be talking about the Mikes who know more than us.
